Roma now have to take part in Europa League qualifying and, as a result, will have to start competitive football much earlier than the rest of the top teams in Europe.

Arsenal will now face Fiorentina midway through their pre-season on July 20, sandwiched between Bayern Munich (July 18) and Real Madrid (July 24).

The game will be played at the Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.

It is a venue that can hold just over 75,000 people and sits on a 33-acre site in uptown Charlotte.

Following the game against Real Madrid, Arsenal will return to London to face Lyon in the truncated Emirates Cup before likely facing Barcelona in a fixture that has yet to be confirmed but should take place in Barcelona on August 4.

The new Premier League kicks off the following week with Arsenal facing a trip to Newcastle on Sunday 12 August with a 2pm kick-off. You can see the rest of the fixtures here.
