Never one to look a free transfer in the mouth, it seems as if Mathieu Flamini could be set for a move back to France with Marseille.

Already the home of Abou Diaby, who was named in the Marseille squad on Wednesday night for the first time in four months after only playing in four games last season, the Flamster has been taking his time to find a new club.

In fact, some were beginning to speculate that he might give up football to continue saving the world, but it seems he still has more shouting and pointing to get out of his system.

Now 32, Flamini has dedicated his career to ensuring no club ever had to pay a transfer fee for him. He signed for Arsenal from Marseille for free in 2004 before eventually running out his contract and moving on to AC Milan in 2013. Doing the same there, he moved back to Arsenal in 2013 where, as you know, we’ve just let him go at the end of his contract.

Again.

This summer we’ve seen a number of former Arsenal players on the move. Alexander Hleb returned to BATE Borisov for the fourth time, Denilson returned to Brazil, Fran Merida moved to La Liga while Alex Song continued the long tradition of players who are rubbish without Wenger by signing for Rubin Kazan.

Robin van Persie could also be on the move, but he won’t be returning anywhere as nobody likes him or wants him back.
