After being told he was not wanted by Al Wahda, former Arsenal man, Denilson, has returned home to Brazil to sign for Cruzeiro on loan.

The Abu Dhabi club had revealed a few days ago that they would be letting Denilson leave as they looked to make room for a new striker in their squad.

A statement on the official Cruzeiro site said that Denilson will stay with them until the end of the season.

This will be Denilson’s third club since leaving Arsenal in 2013. After a loan to former club, Sao Paulo, he returned there in a permanent deal but after just another two seasons he was off to Abu Dhabi.

Denilson spent seven years at Arsenal, making 153 appearances and perhaps benefiting more from Arsenal’s austerity policy during the post-stadium move years than any other player.
