Sergej Milinković-Savić’s contract expires in 2024 and he reportedly aims to leave Lazio after this season.

Premier League clubs have shown the most concrete intentions to sign him, and Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the player according to reports from Italy.

At the start of February, it was even reported that Arsenal are the favourites to sign Milinković-Savić this summer after trying to land him last summer and in January.

According to reports, Milinković-Savić wishes to leave Lazio without causing ‘significant harm to the club’, and therefore prefers a transfer in the upcoming summer window, rather than leaving on a free in 2024.

The possibility of Lazio’s club president compelling him to stay for an additional year also exists, but that risks losing him for free.

While the player is reportedly keen on joining Real Madrid, there are no current links between the two parties.

Milinković-Savić was first linked to Arsenal around eight years ago when he was still with Genk, before he eventually moved to Lazio for €12m.

The midfielder, who turned 28 on 27 February, 2023, has six goals and eight assists from 30 matches in all competitions this season and is valued at around €60m although Lazio could ask for as much as €100m to let him leave.
