After a busy week, things didn’t really slow down over the weekend as Arsenal sorted out the transfer of two players, a dead body was found at an Arsenal player’s home and three matches took place.

Arsenal announced the arrival of Dani Ceballos and William Saliba midweek while Sead Kolasinac and Mesut Ozil had themselves a run-in with some knife-wielding attackers in what was a hectic week. How can you top that?

Easily, it seems.

Saturday looked like it might be relatively quiet with Arsenal not playing on Sunday but the day started with a story about a body being found at Mohamed Elneny’s under construction villa in Egypt.

If that wasn’t mad enough, David Ornstein popped up to confirm that yes! Arsenal had indeed agreed an €80m deal with Lille for Nicolas Pepe.

That prompted some Arsenal fans to call for a statue for Raul Sanllehi whom many believe has fooled the UK media into thinking we have no money to spend and now seems to have fooled Arsenal fans into thinking we have loads with the truth somewhere in the middle.

In actual football, the Arsenal youngsters drew 1-1 with Hitchin Town, Arsenal women lost 1-0 against Bayern in the Emirates Cup while the men lost 2-1 against Lyon and some Arsenal fans booed Shkodran Mustafi as he came on as a sub.

In the women’s game, Danielle Carter, making her first start since rupturing her left ACL last May seemed to suffer a serious injury to her right knee. She was stretchered off in tears as she hauled on oxygen to try to dim what was obviously significant pain.

n other news, Rob Holding returned to first-team training while Xavier Amaechi completed a permanent move to Hamburger SV despite Arsenal trying to get him to sign a new deal.

Finally, former Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen teamed up with Lukas Podolski at Vissel Kobe on a two-and-a-half year deal, bringing to an end his nightmare time at Barcelona.
