Arsenal’s women lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the Emirates Cup on Sunday but it was another serious injury to Danielle Carter that will cause Joe Montemurro the most concern.

Carter, making her first start since rupturing her left ACL last May seemed to suffer a serious injury to her right knee. She was stretchered off, in tears, as she hauled on oxygen to try to dim what was obviously significant pain.

The injury confirmation, when it inevitably comes, will be another cruel blow to the 26-year-old forward who spoke about how hard the recovery was last time.
