On Wednesday the transfer circus moved its monkeys from Gonzalo Higuain’s back garden and planted them firmly on Mauro Icardi’s lawn.

That’s not to say there weren’t more updates on the Higuain borefest – Aurelio De Laurentiis told as many media outlets as he could that he absolutely, positively won’t sell to Juve…unless they meet the release clause, of course.

The Icardi hoopla got underway when his wife and agent left her geostamp on for a tweet. Cue craziness. I’m still not buying any of it, but I can be a contrary little sod at times.

In actual news, some former Gunners were on the move with both Fran Merida and Denilson finding new clubs. Wenger looks set to make Per Mertesacker captain, but Paul isn’t convinced that’s the best idea in the world. Meanwhile, youngster Tafari Moore looks to be on his way after having a trial with FC Utrecht.

Alex Iwobi has been describing what it’s like during pre season for Arsenal players, Arsenal won’t be signing Matthias Ginter, Mahrez won’t be leaving Leicester, the new away kit seems to have been leaked for real, Arsenal have made a bid for Arda Turan (but haven’t really), AC Milan are trying to get Arsenal to bid for Carlos Bacca after he refused to move to West Ham, and Arsenal are being blamed for holding up the Wojciech Szczesny transfer because they won’t just give him to Roma for whatever amount the Romans deem appropriate.

Phew.
