Arsenal’s summer shake-up seems to be gaining momentum, with Granit Xhaka set to join Bayer Leverkusen and talks scheduled to begin over a £90m move for West Ham’s Declan Rice. Meanwhile, Montpellier’s rejection of a €25m bid for star forward Elye Wahi raised some eyebrows, and there was a buzz as Youri Tielemans confirmed he will leave Leicester City.

The week concluded with Aaron Ramsdale signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal, Lia Walti’s recovery from an ankle injury offering some hope for her World Cup dreams, with Martinelli and Zinchenko being ruled out for the season.
