Arsenal’s midfield marvel, Frida Maanum, has earned a well-deserved nomination for the coveted Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Season award. The Norwegian international has been instrumental in Arsenal’s success this season, making her a standout contender for the honour.

In her second season with Arsenal, 23-year-old Maanum has already left an indelible mark in the Women’s Super League.

She boasts an impressive tally of nine goals and four assists, demonstrating her undeniable talent. Her consistent dominance across the midfield, along with her knack for scoring crucial goals, has reinforced Arsenal’s position as a force to be reckoned with in women’s football.

Maanum’s remarkable season hasn’t gone unnoticed within her own club, either. She was crowned Arsenal Women’s Player of the Month twice this season and was a close runner-up in the club’s Goal of the Month poll in March.

The latter honour was in recognition of her sublime strike against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final.

More recently, Maanum also secured a nomination for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Season, reflecting the appreciation of her performances by football fans.

For the WSL annual accolade, Maanum is in esteemed company, making up an eight-player shortlist that includes Ona Batlle and Leah Galton from Man United, Rachel Daly and Kirsty Hanson from Aston Villa, Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten from Chelsea, and Khadija Shaw from Man City.

Indeed, the nomination is a testament to Maanum’s invaluable contribution to Arsenal’s campaign. Arsenal fans will no doubt be hopeful that she will clinch the esteemed Player of the Season award. However, regardless of the final decision, Frida Maanum’s impact on the pitch, her charismatic leadership and extraordinary talent, is not up for debate.

While voting for the Player of the Season is currently underway, Arsenal’s faithful will surely back their midfield star, acknowledging her spectacular season and significant contribution to the club’s success.
