Arsenal aren’t in contact with anyone over the signing of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in January, according to a report.

Fabrizio Romano writes for CaughtOffside that there’s no contact with Arsenal over Dusan Vlahovic as things stand. Romano doesn’t entirely rule out a change in January, but he insists that the situation is quiet right now.

Part of the problem with any move for Vlahovic is that he still isn’t 100% fit. He’s focusing on recovering from his injury, which makes an immediate transfer difficult to imagine.

Juventus also only signed the player a year ago. Even if things haven’t gone entirely to plan since then, they may not want to let him go so soon.

For the record, some sources in England have suggested that Arsenal have no interest in the move anyway.

Ryan Taylor of the Express reports that the Vlahovic “ship has now sailed”, with Arsenal becoming agitated with the way the player’s overlooked them last January.

Vlahovic’s injury is relevant to Arsenal for another reason, given the Gunners take on Juventus in a friendly on Saturday.

Whilst it might be good news for a top European club to be missing their star striker before a key knockout game against them, that’s less true in a friendly.

Ideally, Juventus would have had all their best players available to test Arsenal on Saturday, ahead of the return of Premier League football. But it seems a number of the Serie A side’s stars will be missing.
