Arsenal appear set to wear grey shorts with the rest of their black kit on Thursday, in light of UEFA’s strict rules on kits and clashes.

Arsenal travel away to PSV Eindhoven on Thursday, with PSV set to line up wearing their usual home kit – a red and white shirt, white socks, and black shorts.

The problem is that this clashes with all of Arsenal’s kits. Arsenal’s red and white home kit is obviously out of the question, the pink kit is too similar to PSV’s red and white, and the black kit clashes with PSV’s black shorts.

As a result, it was initially believed Arsenal would wear their black kit for the most part with the white shorts of the home kit.

However, Simon Collings now writes that Arsenal will wear bespoke grey shorts with the rest of the black kit. It seems UEFA may have had a late change of mind.

Twitter user Museum of Jerseys put together an estimation of what that’s likely to look like.

Museum of Jerseys also mention the possibility that Arsenal could end up using the grey goalkeeper shorts, but the fact that Collings made reference to a set of “bespoke” grey shorts for the match seemingly makes that unlikely.

Instead, it looks as though we’re going to get an entirely new set of shorts for a unique kit combination on Thursday.
