AC Milan and Ivan Gazidis are ‘dreaming’ of landing Lucas Torreira but the midfielder has no plans to go anywhere even though it’s being reported Arsenal are asking €35m for him.

It’s bad enough that Ivan Gazidis buggered off as soon as he shunted Arsene Wenger out the door, leaving Arsenal in a state of chaos that could take years to recover from, but to then start trying to poach our best players is simply a step too far.

Over the past few days, AC Milan’s interest in Lucas Torreira has seemed to solidify in the press with reports claiming that they are now ‘dreaming’ of signing him. Well, they’ll have to keep on dreaming. Some reports even claim Arsenal have set a €35m price tag for the player when this is plainly just farcical. The 23-year-old cost us £27m just 12 months ago and is valued at £49.5m. That’s before you even consider the fact they’d be absolutely bananas to sell him in the first place.

Currently on international duty for his country at the Copa America, Lucas Torreira gave an interview in which he spoke about his first season at Arsenal.

In it, while joking that he doesn’t like the English weather, he added, “It is strange a little bit, the sun, the more of us that we are here and we are accustomed to having always or almost always the sun. But as the years pass, I’m going to be adapting.”

As you can read, he is planning on adapting and staying at Arsenal.

So, Ivan. Do one.
