Rennes are the latest side to be linked with a move for Arsenal’s captain, Laurent Koscielny, after it was reported that Arsenal are more than willing to sell him.

Arsenal are reportedly asking €11m for Laurent Koscielny as it seems clear the captain’s time at the club is coming to an end.

Borussia Dortmund interested in signing him according to reports in Germany as are Rennes according to a report from France. Reports in Italy suggested the Gunners previously offered Koscielny to Inter Milan, whilst French outlet L’Equipe claimed Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan had all made contact over a move.

With Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey already out the door, this would be the third of Unai Emery’s five club captains to leave this summer. Granit Xhaka and Mesut Özil would be the only two remaining, and although Xhaka claims he is happy at Arsenal and Ozil doesn’t seem to be going anywhere either, both continue to be linked with moves away regardless.

€11m is a decent chunk of change for a soon to-be-34-year-old (he’s 33 until he’s 34 or is it the other way around?) with one year left on his contract who has serious injury problems restricting how much he can play and train. Then again, how adequately can he be replaced for that sort of money?

It would also be pretty cold of Arsenal to afford Cech, Ramsey, and even Danny Welbeck a send-off in front of the Arsenal fans but not their captain.
