Reports everywhere on Friday were claiming Arsenal have agreed to sign Maxi Romero from Velez Sarsfield.
The deal, it is claimed, will be finalised next week.
According to reports, the 16-year-old will stay on-loan with his current club for the next two seasons and is seen as one of the biggest talents in South America.
Sounds good, right?
The player was allegedly offered a contract by Velez before Arsenal intervened and given that he’s a youngster that no-one has heard of, there could be some bones to this story, with the original report coming from Argentina via the player’s agent, Rolando Zarate.
£2m is the price the Gunners have agreed to pay and officials are set to land in Argentina to seal the deal sometime next week as we mentioned.
