Arsenal will have to stump up €18m if they want to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic.

So say the reports that have started to surface claiming that is the price that his club, Anderlecht, want before they let the 20-year-old leave the club.

But are Arsenal even interested or is it all just transfer nonsense?

We’d like to call nonsense on it as it seems very much the definition of a story that has just had Arsenal’s name tacked on to it in order to generate a little more buzz but he’s young, relatively unheard off, and in Arsene Wenger’s £10-15m sweetspot so it’s hard to dismiss it outright.

So what do we know about him?

Well, he signed for the Belgian side in 2013 and he’s a right-footed striker from Serbia who has 21 goals in 40 games and five assists this season. Not a bad record by anyone’s standards, even if it is only in the Jupiler Pro League.

Under contract until 2018, he’s represented by the same people who manage our very own Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy and Yaya Sanogo as well as Cavani, Matic, Fernandinho, Coutinho, Varane, Ramires, and a host of others so this could well be a player destined for a big move
