Ian Wright was one of the greatest strikers to ever play for Arsenal Football Club. The former English striker joined Arsenal in 1991 from Crystal Palace for £2.5m. Wright left Arsenal for West Ham in 1998 for £500,000. In total, he made 288 appearances for Arsenal and scored 185 goals. “Wrighty” wore the number 8 for Arsenal and was the club’s top scorer for six seasons in a row. Wright is currently a pundit on tv and radio. He was born on November 3, 1963. He is the father of footballers Shaun Wright-Phillips and Bradley Wright-Phillips.
