Kieran Tierney says that Rob Holding is his best friend in the Arsenal team, although he has got very close with Jack Wilshere, who continues to train with the squad.

Kieran Tierney was taking part in an Arsenal Q&A on TikTok when he was asked who his closet friend was at Arsenal.

“My best mate at Arsenal would be Rob Holding,” Tierney said.

“He helped me a lot when I first came, so I’m grateful for that.”

The pair, while close friends, don’t get to spend a lot of time together on the pitch these days.

Holding has made only seven Premier League appearances this season, playing a total of 925 minutes across all competitions. 520 of those minutes have come when Kieran Tierney was also on the pitch.

In total, since Tierney signed for Arsenal from Celtic in 2019, the pair have played 3,134 minutes together across 46 matches, averaging 1.76 points per game when they both play from 25 wins, six draws and 15 defeats.

Tierney also admitted he has another good friend at Arsenal – Jack Wilshere.

“And also now Jack Wilshere‘s training with us, I’ve been very close with him,” Tierney added.

“He’s a great guy and also a great player.”

Jack Wilshere has made no secret of his desire to return to Arsenal as a player but Mikel Arteta has not been moved.

Wilshere has a number of offers, including from Serie B side Como, but has yet to make a decision on his future.
