Another Arsenal-linked Newcastle United player appears to be off the table this summer, with FC Barcelona reaching an agreement to sign Anthony Gordon.

David Ornstein and Pol Ballus of The Athletic report that FC Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
The deal is worth a total of €80m (£69.4m), with a sell-on clause included, and Newacstle have accepted those terms. Personal terms have also been agreed, putting Barcelona in pole position to complete the transfer.
Bayern Munich had been favourites for Gordon until recently, but they’d been unwilling to meet Newcastle’s demands. Then Arsenal had been linked with the winger for quite a while, but they never firmed up their interest with an official bid.

This is the second Arsenal-linked Newcastle player to seemingly come off the market in recent days, with Lewis Miley signing an extension with the north-east club earlier this week.
Arsenal’s interest in Tino Livramento also appears to have dulled as a result of the player’s injury problems, with recent reports suggesting interested clubs have been put off paying Newcastle’s £50m valuation by the right-back’s four setbacks this season.
That leaves one more Newcastle player to be linked with Arsenal this year, Sandro Tonali, but it’s hard to know exactly what’s going on with the midfield. His representatives have been causing chaos in the media since January.

The plan had initially been to see what offers Tonali’s camp had after the World Cup, but Italy didn’t end up qualifying. Perhaps that could speed up the decision-making process over the coming weeks.
Regardless of what happens with Tonali, it doesn’t look like Gordon, Miley, or Livramento will be heading to north London this summer.
