Arsenal are now preparing to offer a new contract to Ben White, following the announcement of Martin Odegaard’s fresh deal.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are currently preparing to offer Ben White a new deal, a long-term contract with an improved salary.
Romano claims Arsenal are eager to keen White, and the new deal is one that could happen soon. It’s one to keep an eye on now, according to the journalist.
The Daily Mail reported in September that White was set to open formal talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, with the club looking to secure his long-term future.
White’s current deal has three years left to run, but the Gunners believe his progress since joining should be rewarded.
Talks over new terms were expected to start within weeks, and it seems that’s now set to happen imminently.
Charles Watts told TEAMtalk earlier in the summer that White and Odegaard would be the next two players in line for contract extensions, and Odegaard has since signed a new deal.
Before that, The Times reported in May that White could be among those to be offered improved terms after deals for the likes of Saka and Saliba were sorted.
White has proven a key player for Mikel Arteta since signing from Brighton and Hove Albion, playing 93 times for the Gunners.
The defender has played every Arsenal minute in the Premier League and the Champions League for the 2023/24 campaign so far, only coming off early in the League Cup game against Brentford.
