Posting on the club website on Friday morning, Arsenal confirmed their list of players who will be out of contract from June 30th, including Eddie Nketiah.

The statement added that Arsenal had offered Nketiah a new deal, and discussions are ongoing.

Ryan Taylor reports that an extension announcement is actually very close, and expected to be confirmed in the coming days.

This follows a report from The Athletic claiming an announcement is close, and Charles Watts also writes that it’s looking as though Nketiah will sign.

Until the deal is actually done, Arsenal are obviously going to remain cautious with any public statements.

That’s why Nketiah had to go on the released list for now, because the only alternative was confirming a new contract they’re not at liberty to confirm yet.

Nketiah ended the season strongly, scoring five goals in his eight Premier League starts – all of which were from mid-April onwards.

Fabrizio Romano recently wrote that Nketiah’s new five-year deal to 2027 is now set to be signed, with Arsenal keen to keep him at all costs.

Romano added that though Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and two Bundesliga clubs were among those to approach Nketiah over a transfer, he’s now staying with the Gunners instead.

Arsenal have reportedly offered Nketiah a deal worth up to £100k-a-week, with a £5m signing-on bonus spread over the course of the deal.
