WhoScored announced their Premier League Team of the Week on Monday, with Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe featuring in the side.

There were plenty of good performances in Arsenal’s dominant win over Villa ahead of the weekend, but Smith Rowe was probably the standout.

The 21-year-old scored one and assisted one, creating four chances, completing all three of his attempted dribbles, winning four of five individual duels, and making two interceptions and a tackle on the defensive end.

All of that earned him a 9.14 WhoScored rating out of 10 for the match.

The performance was all the more impressive considering Mikel Arteta admitted after the game that Smith Rowe hadn’t even been fully fit at the start of the week.

Arteta explained that Smith Rowe had a recent injury that he still hadn’t completely shaken off, but he wanted to play against Crystal Palace to help overcome it. He certainly appeared to do that for the Villa clash.
