Alexandre Lacazette is a possible alternative for AS Roma to the signing of Tammy Abraham, with Abraham still seeming to prefer Arsenal.

AS Roma are currently pushing to try and complete the signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea, but Alexandre Lacazette is starting to emerge as a possible alternative.

Alfredo Pedulla reports that Roma are still waiting for Abraham’s agreement to join the club, but they could turn to Lacazette if Abraham decides he wants a move to Arsenal instead.

Di Marzio also report that Lacazette is one of Roma’s alternatives, though they add that there’s been no official contact on that front yet, and other options remain the most concrete.

Back in England, The Times report that Arsenal are keen to sell Lacazette, given he’s in the last year of his contract. The Gunners are also willing to pay Abraham wages of £125,000-a-week if they can reach an agreement with Chelsea for the striker’s transfer.

This all follows another report from Calciomercato in the last few days that Arsenal had offered Lacazette to Roma. It certainly makes some sense that it could be that way around, given it would solve a few problems at once for the Gunners.

Unfortunately, that makes it a bit harder to know whether or not Roma really want Lacazette, or if the reports all simply stem from it being a deal that makes sense for Arsenal.
