James Benge reports for CBS Sports that Emi Buendia is prepared to push for a move to Arsenal if they try to sign him this month. They’ve already held informal talks with the Norwich City man over a possible January transfer.

This could be important, as Norwich are currently planning to ignore any and all offers for Buendia in the winter window. Sky Sports claim Norwich they’ll ignore even lucrative offers for him.

Daniel Farke told the media: “He is our player and will continue to be our player. He is on a long-term contract so we keep him.”

Buendia has seven goals and seven assists in 19 games, leading Norwich City up to top spot in the Championship table. As things stand, he has them on course for promotion.

It’s no real surprise they don’t want to sell him mid-season in those circumstances.

But if the player really pushes his club to let him go, that might change the picture. They might worry about the effect of forcing an unsettled player to stay, and consider cashing in to reinvest in a replacement.

Prior to the window opening, there were suggestions Norwich were planning for this eventuality. They were reportedly looking at potential replacements just in case a bid came in.

Right now, it looks like we’re all just waiting to find out whether or not Arsenal will make that bid and set everything in motion.
