David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Arsenal will lose their head of physiotherapy Chris Morgan to Liverpool this summer. Morgan previously worked for the Merseyside club before leaving in 2016, joining Arsenal two years later.

For Liverpool, they believe they made a mistake letting Morgan go, so they’re happy to bring him back.

As for Arsenal, they searched for a replacement in the meantime, seemingly settling on Brazilian Bruno Mazziotti. The 42-year-old previously worked with the Brazil National Team (with Edu) and is about to leave his current post with PSG.

Mazziotti also worked for Real Madrid and AC Milan in the past. Whilst he hasn’t signed on with Arsenal just yet, an agreement is close.

Losing an experienced medic to the Premier League champions is clearly far from ideal. However, with Morgan’s family based in Liverpool and their recent success, you can hardly blame Arsenal for that.

All the Gunners can do is search for an appropriate replacement, and given Mazziotti’s track record, he seems a good fit. Now they just need to get it over the line so we can move on.

Arsenal recently managed to convince club doctor Gary O’Driscoll not to join Liverpool, after a similar approach. I guess you can’t win them all.
