AC Milan are ‘on alert’ after learning Arsenal could sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Football-Italia report that Milan are on alert after the reports suggesting Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to move on from Arsenal this summer. They see him as an alternative to current right-back Davide Calabria.

As we wrote about yesterday, it is looking more and more possible Maitland-Niles leaves in the upcoming window. He dropped out of the team under both Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta, and there appears to be a rift between player and coach off the pitch.

I have to say, however, it’s getting to the point where any Arsenal outcast is reportedly a Milan target.

Lucas Torreira’s agent reportedly contacted them over a Serie A return, they’re looking at a summer deal for Shkodran Mustafi, even Unai Emery saw links to Milan’s head coach job last month.

It’s just an easy connection for the Italian media to make, after Ivan Gazidis’ move.

They can credibly claim Gazidis knew the player or coach well from his time at Arsenal, and point to former Gunner Ismael Bennacer joining Milan last summer. So take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
