Sky Sport Italia (via Francesco Porzio) report that Unai Emery is among the candidates to become the new AC Milan manager. Currently, Ralf Rangnick is still the favourite, but the former Arsenal coach is in the running too.

Emery is out of a job ever since Arsenal let him go for a terrible run of results. That’s unless giving multiple interviews to every major outlet in media about his time at the club counts as a job.

The 48-year-old left the team in eighth, already eight points off the top-four after just 13 games. The Gunners also had a negative goal difference and suffered an early League Cup exit.

A strong start to the Europa League was evaporating too, after a narrow late comeback against Vitoria was followed by a poor away draw and a home defeat to Frankfurt. Nothing was going well.

For whatever reason, that doesn’t seem to be stopping Gazidis. After employing Emery once at Arsenal, it’s very possible he now does the same at Milan. Good luck to them both.
