Granit Xhaka has thrown his weight behind Mesut Ozil’s assertion that you don’t find a club because of trophies, you find the club where you feel you belong.

Taking to Twitter after missing out on Arsenal’s latest humiliation, this time in Belarus just to mix things up a bit, Ozil quoted Dennis Bergkamp.

It is a very telling quote from a man who looks like he’s being forced from the club and says very clearly – I love it here [and I’m going nowhere].

Ozil’s tweet, which was also posted to his Instagram account garnered a lot of response, but it was the reply from Granit Xhaka that caught the eye:

Nobody can say with any certainty what is going on with Ozil and Emery, nor what the impact is on the rest of the club.

Occam’s razor, however, tells us that they are trying to force him out and the German doesn’t want to go.

If anything, Ozil is digging his heels in more as his latest tweet demonstrates and he looks like he has the backing of some of the players at least.
