Arsenal conspired to beat themselves 3-1 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon in the days late kick-off.

Firing off 33 shots (to United’s 8), Arsenal certainly didn’t hold back or look scared against United. Rather, it was their inbuilt ability to shoot themselves in the foot and then follow that up with a hatchet to the head that was their undoing.

So how did the players do? For a 3-1 defeat to a Jose Mourinho Manchester United, surprisingly well…

Subs

Alex Iwobi 6

Arsenal improved when he came on but that was more likely the change in formation than anything he did in particular. Managed six shots, three of which were even on target.

Danny Welbeck 7

Gave it his all, got in a few shots, didn’t lose the ball once and generally did what Danny does.

Olivier Giroud 3

A pass accuracy of 25%, zero efforts on goal, and just four touches is hardly the impact we expect from the Frenchman off the bench these days.
