Alexis Sanchez stopped off in Paris, leading to rumours of Paris Saint-Germain talks, before it was quickly revealed he was on his way back from a family visit in Chile.
Alexis was granted two days off by Arsenal and he took the opportunity to visit his family in Chile for Christmas. On his way back, he happened to make a stop in Paris.
The moment he was spotted, people concluded he was there to speak with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible transfer. The Sun were certainly quick to make a transfer rumour out of it.
They even report that Alexis was there on his way back from holiday, but that didn’t stop them from speculating anyway. The January transfer window is just around the corner. That means this tiresome saga is going to be front and centre.
Will Alexis join Manchester City? Or will he join PSG? It’s highly unlikely the latter will be pursuing him, given how much they have spent on their attack over the summer.
The signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will cost them around £365m, so they’re more likely to sell than buy next month.
The 29-year-old has been in poor form this season, with just five goals in 16 league appearances. If Manchester City make an approach, it’s hard to see him staying.
