Sadar Azmoun, also known as the ‘Iranian Messi’ is a reported transfer target for Arsenal who could fight Lazio and West Ham for his signature.

Yawn.

Sadar Azmoun currently plays for Russian club FK Rostov, and the Iranian international joined the club on a permanent basis just last summer after spending two seasons on loan from Rubin Kazan.

The Iranian international plays as a central striker but is also adapted to play in a role behind the main striker. He recorded 41 appearances for the club last season over four competitions, contributing 12 goals and three assists.

Do Arsenal really want him?

Sadar Azmoun isn’t a top quality player and there will be more than a few years before he reaches his full potential. With current competition in the Arsenal squad, his chances would be very limited and the player would most likely need to be loaned out in order to develop.

Lazio and West Ham are believed to hold a much greater interest in the player and with the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, Arsene Wenger will most likely back out from any deal if they were even interested in the first place.

There are no obvious reasons why Arsene Wenger would want to bring the 22-year-old to the Emirates at this point of his career.

West Ham (or Lazio) can have him.
