Santi Cazorla once again proved to be a passmaster against Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The midfield maestro made 94 passes in total with 85 of those being successful, which is a whopping 90%. In the final third he put in 33 (30 successful) and he created three chances. The Spaniard also won four out of four take ons and recovered the ball 11 times.

He wasn’t just amazing in attack though. Santi also made four successful tackles (out of six).

Our midfield metronome is turning up every single game and delivering, helping to keep the middle of the park ticking over. It’s hard to believe he’s not in his 20s, given his current fitness and work rate.

It’s amazing to have him in the side.

The man was everywhere and despite it appearing as if he doesn’t get involved, he does so much. If he wasn’t there, we would miss him massively.

Nice one, Santi.
