After claims that Arsenal were nearing a deal for 22-year old Paraguay winger, Miguel Almiron, the player himself has admitted that he has not heard from Arsenal but that it would be ‘nice’ to play for us.
As reported by sports journalist, Reben Dario da Rosa, who was, if I remember correctly, one of the people talking about the alleged deal early on, Almiron said, “It would be nice to play at Arsenal, but I still haven’t heard anything.”

Now, whether we can get into his use of the word ‘still’ to ask if he is expecting a call from Arsenal or if it is just a difference in language and semantics (it’s probably the latter) it just goes to show how heavy a transfer can seem without anything actually taking place.
Well, we say ‘anything’…
It’s not clear at this point whether Arsenal’s interest in the player is real and they’ve contacted his club for talks, just not the player yet, which would be the proper order of things That is a real possibility given the fact that Almiron is apparently without an agent.
Given the glacial pace that Arsenal move at, if they are interested in this window, they’d best get a wiggle on.
