Arsenal are said to be closing in on a deal that would see them bring 22-year-old Paraguay international, Miguel Almiron, to London according to reports that started in Italy.

A left winger with Lanus in Argentina, Almiron is known for his dribbling, pace and willingness to put in a great tackle.

Poor in the air, he more than makes up for it with everything else he offers and if the reports are true (and they seem to be) then it would back up rumours we’ve been hearing that Arsenal are after one more before the window shuts (and that they’ve been looking for a wide player all window).

His range of passing is also impressive and it’s not hard to see why he would appeal to Arsene Wenger.

According to the reports, both parties involved (Almiron doesn’t actually have an agent) will talk more but the hope seems to be that a deal will be sorted before the deadline on Wednesday.

Almiron scored two and created one in 12 league appearances last season, with a total of four and one in 16 in all competitions.

A work permit is not thought to be an issue.
