The big news on Friday was that Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez look as if they’re about to sign for Arsenal very soon.

Arsene Wenger had his press conference ahead of our trip to Vicarage Road. He confirmed that Mesut Ozil could start, although the boss will assess that on the day, Olivier Giroud could feature but is still a ‘bit short’ to start and everyone else is still out.

Gabriel and Carl Jenkinson are six weeks away now, while Ramsey and Iwobi are ‘progressing well’.

Wenger also spoke about Joel Campbell‘s loan move to Sporting; facing PSG in the Champions League, Troy Deeney; who he might play against Nottingham Forest in the EFL and revealed that he could loan out Calum Chambers before the window closes.

The manager’s most reported comment, however, was the fact that he confirmed we’re trying to sign Mustafi and Perez. He even claimed he’s 99% sure they will get done.

About that…

Perez is said to have completed his medical in London, while Mustafi is said to have been in London for his medical this morning. There’s no proper news on whether he’s actually completed his yet but it does seem close, if reports are to be believed.

Oh yeah, and Arsenal’s u23s lost to Liverpool.
