According to Sky Sports News HD, Arsenal are expected to sell Serge Gnabry to Bayern Munich before immediately loaning him out to Werder Bremen… huh?

A loan move appears to have been always on the cards for the German, who excelled at this summer’s Rio Olympics, scoring six in six and winning Player of the Tournament. However, with Arsene Wenger claiming only recently that he wants to tie the 21-year-old down to another Arsenal contract, selling him seems rather unlikely.

The winger has already been linked with moves to Hertha BSCRB Leipzig and FSV Mainz 05 and a successful loan move after the shambles that was his spell at West Brom will most likely do him the world of good.

It does just appear as if Schalke manager, Christian Heidel’s, comments about “17 or 18” German clubs being after the youngster have been taken out of context and the media has run with them. However, Bayern fans are positively salivating at the prospect of him joining the Bundesliga club, claiming that he’ll be a decent back-up for Robert Lewandowski or Thomas Müller…

I’d be very surprised if Arsenal did sell him.
