Reports that Riyad Mahrez is joining Arsenal have cooled down after the initial commotion of Saturday but they’re still rumbling on.
After Claudio Ranieri made it clear that he wasn’t letting the winger leave Leicester City without a fight, it’s been hard for the media to think up reasons that he might join us. That hasn’t stopped them trying though.
Futbol Agent on Twitter (I know, I know) is saying that we’ve not only bid £45m but we’ve had said bid accepted by the Foxes. Of course, the chances of this happening are slim-to-none.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail have jumped on the theory that Leicester are in the process of signing Mahrez’s replacement in the form of Bartosz Kaputska, which is something we considered days ago. The Foxes have reportedly offered £6.25m for the Polish ‘wonderkid’.
Something odd that has happened, however, is Leicester have announced their new deal with DHL but left Mahrez out of the picture…

I doubt we can read too much into that though.
Any hope of us signing Mahrez seems to have faded into distant memory. Ranieri is keen to keep him and I don’t believe we’ve made any sort of formal approach, let alone a bid.
Well, that was fun while it lasted.
