According to the Italian media, Arsenal have entered talks with Inter Milan for central midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic, although we’re not sure we want to spend £25m.

The link with the 23-year-old, which popped up a few days ago, is a little odd considering we’ve just bought Granit Xhaka for a similar amount. Central midfield isn’t an area we desperately need to strengthen right now but, despite this, we’re still apparently interested.

The Croatia international did well at the Euros, which has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs, including Juventus, and he made 32 Serie A appearances last season. Towards to end in particular, he became an integral part of Inter’s team.

I’m skeptical that we’re genuinely interested, considering a central midfielder shouldn’t really be on our shopping list. However, since the story has now made its way over to the UK tabloids, it might not be entirely nothing like I originally thought.
