Well the Dimitri Payet to Arsenal rumours lasted all of five seconds.

Daily Cannon recently reported that the midfielder was supposedly unsettled with the Hammers after demanding £80,000 a week, which the east London club weren’t willing to cough up. This led to reports that Arsenal, who have been keeping an eye on the Frenchman, were going to swoop in and nab him.

However, it turns out that Hammers’ fans had no need to worry, as Payet has now signed a new contract with their team, which takes him up to 2021.

West Ham fans will be over the moon, considering the 28-year-old has been one of their stand out players so far this season and there are bound to be multiple clubs sniffing around come summer.

I doubt we were actually interested. However, West Ham sure shut that one down quickly and made sure everyone knew who Payet belongs to.
