Speaking to the press ahead of Sunday’s big clash against Leicester City, Arsène Wenger insisted the Gunners have no new injuries.
That means the same squad should be available once again, plus Mohamed Elneny who missed the 2-0 win as his wife was giving birth.
“We should have the same squad as last week, there are still 48 hours to go but it should be the same squad,” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference.
It’s quite the relief as, earlier in the season, it felt like Arsenal picked up an injury every week. Now we’re getting closer to a full squad again – Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are all close to returning.
“The belief is there that with everybody back we have a bigger chance. We have the FA Cup, the Premier League, we have two big games against Barcelona.
“Wilshere and Cazorla I don’t count them for the next 2-3 weeks,” the boss said, but Danny Welbeck could be in the Arsenal squad next weekend. “Fitness-wise he is there.”
Sunday is massive and a good result will give us momentum for the rest of the season, keeping everyone fit at this crucial stage is absolutely huge for our title chances.
