News-wise, it’s pretty darn quiet out there.

Perhaps that’s the reason that the main story that seems to be doing the rounds, apart from the one featuring Kieran Gibbs going for a *SHOCK HORROR* McDonald’s after the win over Liverpool at the weekend, is one linking Arsenal with a move for Gonzalo Higuain.

We all remember how much fun that was last time, right?

The main thrust of this story seems to be based on a lot of ‘if’s‘ and ‘maybes‘ – the striker *might* want to leave *if* Napoli fail to qualify for the Champions League, something the player has *allegedly* told friends (are they friends if they blab to the press?).

That’s it. That’s the jist of the entire thing.

Arsenal are frontrunners, apparently, for his signature although given that he hasn’t actually made a concrete decision to leave that could mean they’re running after a shadow.

With Arsenal splashing the cash in the last two summer windows I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see another high-ticket player arrive at the Emirates, however who that will be is almost impossible to say at this stage.

Not one of us could have predicted the arrival of Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez.

But one thing is for sure – it’s so much more fun knowing we *can* buy these players rather than just dismissing any player worth more than £16m who is linked with the club on the basis that there is no way the club would pay that sort of money for a player.
