Arsenal are reportedly hoping to capitalise on Karim Benzema’s uncertain future at Real Madrid.

Arsenal have been linked with Benzema since Robin van Persie followed the little boy inside him to Manchester United in 2012. However, the Gunners signed Olivier Giroud and the Real Madrid forward obviously never came to north London.

Now, the 29-year-old is once again being linked with a move to Arsenal as rumours claiming that Los Blancos could be after Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, start to pick up.

Benzema has been struggling for game time, getting just three La Liga starts so far this term. Last season, he got 23, scoring 11 and assisting five.

As a result, the France international is said to be seeking a move and Arsenal – as usual – are the main club in the frame, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

What’s more, Jose Mourinho has apparently been going around and blabbing that Arsene Wenger really wants to sign Benzema, since he’s his ex-manager and knows the ins and outs of his deal with the Spanish giants. Well I guess they had to jazz up the story somehow…

The assumption is that Benzema would be brought in to replace Alexis Sanchez, who’s likely to leave Arsenal in either January or on a free next summer.

The Real Madrid ace has four years left on his current deal.
