Spanish La Liga side Valencia are the latest club to show an interest in Juventus and Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Spain.

Arsenal have been linked with Cuadrado all summer, and the links have carried on into September, with the latest reports that the Gunners may be interested in a move for the player in January.

However, according to El Gol Digital in Spain, Valencia are now interested in the Colombian winger. The Spanish publication write that the La Liga outfit are planning to compete with Arsenal for the Juventus player.

The Gunners reportedly have the upper hand because of the economic power of the Premier League, and because a move to London represents a more desirable project.

In my opinion, these factors would only come into play if Arsenal really wanted to spend big on the 29-year-old, and given his age and goal contributions over the last couple of seasons, I’m not sure they would.

Valencia might seem like a bit of a step down from the Italian champions, if you look purely at the trophies won by each team, but Cuadrado would have to decide for himself whether the project in Spain represented a good opportunity for him.

With the World Cup coming up next year, I wouldn’t be making any hasty moves if I were the Colombian.
