Following a host of departures this summer, England centre-forward Gabriella Lucie Ravenscroft has signed for Arsenal Ladies.

She confirmed on Twitter that she will be joining the Gunners soon and is expecting to be in the Arsenal U20 side managed by club legend Kelly Smith.

Ravenscroft was previously at Oxford United, and in May she was part of the England U17 squad that played at the European Championship in Czech Republic. She scored against Poland and Germany in the Elite round games in April.

It was the first time at U17 level that England managed to beat Germany, with Arsenal’s newest recruit scored the crucial second goal with a brilliant volley.

At club level, Ravenscroft scored 16 goals in 17 games last year with Oxford United U16, and is being tipped to lead the Arsenal line in the future, potentially taking over the #9 jersey left vacant by Rianna Dean.

Dean is likely to move away from the club in search of first-team football after scoring 37 goals from 20 games last season.

She was denied a chance to play in the Spring Series, with manager Pedro Losa choosing to name an injured player rather than her on the bench.
