Monaco midfielder, Fabinho, is reportedly close to snubbing Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Juventus in favour of a move to Manchester United.

  • Fabinho previously linked with Arsenal, Inter and Juve
  • Defensive midfielder scored 12 goals last season
  • £30m move to Manchester on the cards
  • Player has once described playing for United as his ‘objective’

Fabinho, who was linked with Arsenal earlier in the year, is said to be close to a £30m move to Manchester United, snubbing not only the Gunners but Juventus and Inter Milan.

According to Corrieire dello Sport, the defensive midfielder will be earning £4.5m-a-year (plus performance-based bonuses) with the Red Devils.

It was recently claimed that Fabinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was trying to convince Barcelona to sign the Brazil international. However, the star’s switch to United shouldn’t come as a massive surprise considering Fabinho revealed back in February that his ‘objective’ was to sign for Jose Mourinho’s side.

“My objective is to get to a club with the dimension of Manchester United,” he told FourFourTwo [via Metro].

“I have no clue if one day I’ll be a United player, but I’ll keep on working so it stops being a rumour and becomes reality.”

The 23-year-old was a key player for Monaco last season, scoring 12 goals and assisting six.

At the moment, he still has four years left on his contract with Monaco.
