Arsenal could be willing to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City if they sign a world-class replacement first.

  • Arsenal do not want to sell to a Premier League team, but could be forced to
  • Alexis is said to be very interested in a move to City
  • Arsenal may be willing if they’re able to secure a world class replacement first

City have serious interest in the Chilean and, for the time being, Arsenal are refusing to negotiate with them.

They’re aware that Alexis wants to leave the club, but would rather he be sold to Bayern Munich and not a Premier League rival.

Now Marca are reporting that Arsenal could change their stance if they’re able to secure a high quality replacement first.

They claim that Arsene Wenger is fearful of fan backlash should he sell Alexis to City without any sort of replacement coming in.

It’s unlikely that any signing would appease the fanbase enough to forgive selling yet another players to a rival.

Arsenal have been linked wth Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, a player Wenger has admitted to liking.

If Arsenal have to sell Sanchez, then they would certainly want to sell the player abroad, regardless of who the replacement ends up being.

Arsene Wenger has previously said that he’d be willing to keep Alexis at the club, even if he doesn’t extend his contract.
