Arsenal reportedly had a deadline day bid for Juventus striker, Simone Zaza, turned down and we aren’t done yet.

According to reports, we’re hoping to come back in January with a new, improved bid.

Our original offer is said to be in the region of £22m and if we’re unable to purchase him, we’re supposedly willing to take him on loan for an additional fee of £1.4.

Zaza scored 12 goals in 34 appearances last season for Sassuolo so wouldn’t have been a bad addition. However, he’s not yet made an appearance for Juventus, who have practically only just signed him.

I’m not entirely convinced that we weren’t trying to bring in anyone in the latest stages of the transfer window. Arsene Wenger tends to be low key with his business so I don’t believe we necessarily would have heard if we did make a bid for someone. Whether it was Zaza or not is another story.
