Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne’s agent has put a stop to any rumours that the 24-year-old could potentially join Arsenal.

Antonio Ottaiano spoke recently about the possible move and revealed that, if he could, Insigne would stay at Napoli for the rest of his career.

“Lorenzo’s will is to stay at Napoli for life,” the agent said. “But of course it takes two to share a relationship like that.

“There are no problems, unless the club decides to terminate the relationship. But for now there are no problems.”

I’m going to hold my hands up here and admit that I hadn’t heard much about us signing Insigne at all. Obviously we reportedly had interested in his teammate, Gonzalo Higuain, but there was very little fuss made about the younger forward.

Insigne’s made 125 appearances and scored 16 goals but also getting 27 assists and we all know Wenger loves a playmaker, so the idea that we could have been interested isn’t entirely outlandish.

Of course, when his agent says that he’ll be at the Serie A club forever, in football this doesn’t always mean forever but I think it’s safe to say that he won’t be coming to Arsenal any time soon.
