West Ham United Football Club, commonly known as West Ham or “The Hammers,” is a professional soccer club based in London, England. The club was founded in 1895 and has competed in the English football league system since its formation. They are currently playing in the Premier League which is the top tier of English football.
West Ham United has had some success throughout its history. They have won the FA Cup three times, in 1964, 1975, and 1980. They have also won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965 and the Intertoto Cup in 1999. The club also have 9 second-place finishes in the top flight of English football.
The team plays its home matches at the London Stadium, which has a capacity of just over 60,000. The club has a large and passionate fan base and their main rivals are traditionally considered to be Tottenham Hotspur, matches between the two teams are known as “The East London Derby”.
Over the years, many of the world’s best players have played for West Ham, including legends such as Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Paolo Di Canio, and Carlos Tevez. The team is currently managed by David Moyes.
