Arsenal are among the clubs keeping tabs on Turkish teenager Semih Kilicsoy ahead of a potential summer move, according to a report.
CaughtOffside report that Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in scouting Besiktas youngster Semih Kilicsoy for a potential summer move.
The report suggested Kilicsoy could be available for €25-30m (£21.5-25.8m) in the upcoming window, and it’s not just Premier League clubs taking notice of him.
Atletico Madrid and Sevilla in Spain, and Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in Germany are also considering a move, with no one yet having made a concrete approach.
Kilicsoy can play as a centre-forward or out on the wings, having made roughly an equal number of appearances in each position across the front three this season.
The 18-year-old appears to prefer the left-hand side, having provided seven goal contributions in his 11 appearances on the left.
That’s over half of his 13 goals and assists in a little over a third of his 30 games this season.
Those 13 direct goal contributions came in just 1,787 minutes for Besiktas, a very solid record for a player of his age.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Arsenal interest in Kilicsoy, with various Turkish publications crediting the Gunners with an admiration for the teenager over the last few months.
Arsenal may well be in the market for a younger striker this summer, with Kai Havertz’s form seemingly putting a move for a more experienced centre-forward on the backburner.
Whether an 18-year-old with only 76 minutes of European football in the Conference League is a bit too inexperienced to fit their criteria is another question.
