Arsenal have a strong relationship with Joshua Zirkzee’s agent, with AC Milan fearing significant competition for the striker’s summer signature.
Matteo Moretto of Relevo reports for SOS Fanta that AC Milan consider Joshua Zirkzee one of their primary targets for the summer transfer window, but competition is expected primarily from the Premier League.
Moretto writes that Zirkzee’s agent has great relationships in England, with Arsenal above all others, and the Premier League clubs could offer more than Milan.
Daniele Longo recently reported that Arsenal were the “first and foremost” club interested in Zirkzee for the summer, among with the interest from Italy and other Premier League clubs.
This all follows a report from Sam Dean and Jason Burt of The Telegraph in January, with the two confirming that Arsenal are admirers of Zirkzee and keeping an eye on him as a potential summer target.
At the time it was correctly believed that a January deal was unlikely, with Bologna wanting a fee of around £50m and Arsenal unwilling to spend a significant sum.
But the report went on to suggest a deal could be more likely at the end of the season.
Zirkzee has a release clause at Bologna, but only for his former club Bayern Munich. Arsenal and other interested clubs would have to negotiate for his services.
The 22-year-old has nine goals and six assists in 26 games in all competitions this season.
